On Memorial weekend I purchased this 1978 Univega mixte from a local guy in CL Santa Barbara, CA. I love the looks of the mixte and I was ready for more gears as my beloved Space Rider Raleigh only has 3 internal gears.

The mixte came with 10 gears and a great potential for beautification!

Rebecca sent a very detailed writeup of her Puch mixte. The only thing she forgot to mention is that she named her bike, which I figured out when I went to her Flickr set for the bike. the album is named “Lorelei – Puch Princess Mixte.” I think Lorelei is a wonderful name for such a beautiful bicycle.

Cheers,
Doohickie

A well composed shot. I bet Lorelei stands out like this in real life.

This one is a fixer-upper. In fact, it’s a good thing The Mixte Gallery was down for a while, because it gave Jim a chance to work his magic with his Sekai mixte.

Hi Doohickie!

Bet you haven’t seen a Sekai Mixte before. Just picked this up at the local thrift shop for $14.99 and I’m pretty tickled with it. Rock solid, just seriously neglected. It’s in the early stages of overhaul – just couldn’t wait to dig into it.

Want to share your mixte with us?

I will be reopening The Mixte Gallery to new submittals soon! I have a backlog of submittals I need to post, and when the pile gets small enough, I will put a link in this spot that will let you send me your mixte.

Bear with me while I get caught up.

And thanks to Rebecca Olds-Bartlett for sending me pictures of Lorelei, one of which is the current banner for The Mixte Gallery.
