I’m finally giving the other half of Let’s Go Ride a Bike! her due. We’ve previously featured Dottie’s Betty Foy on this site, (over a year ago now). Trisha sent me her pics a while ago, but I go through lazy spells, fall behind, and then getting the backlog out seems like an impossible task. Anyway, I’m workin’ on it.

I have an orange 1974 diamond frame UO-8 which is my primary fixed-fear bike (and one of my favorite all-time rides). When my buddy Randy found this circa 1973 orange mixte at the Goodwill, he immediately bought it and brought it to me.

Now for the second of of a double shot of GrinderBikes. I really wonder why more bikes aren’t produced in this style. They look awesome. I think the style fell out of favor and drop bars took over. Maybe it’s time for the comeback of path racers.

I built up this nice little Panasonic Sport 1000 from a bare frameset, with a “racier” look: Inverted 3-speed bars, cork grips, cross tires and wine corks on the shifters to match the grips and cushion the thumbs. Read the rest of this entry »

First off, thanks for setting this up. I was thinking about doing something like this, but I’m just too lazy.
